The Big Slow Walk
On Friday 24th April at the start of the rush-hour, a slow walk across Waterloo took place. Participants were encouraged to simply enjoy the experinece, which they seemed to do. I tried to capture the contrast of the slow walkers against the ferocious pace of many of the passers-by. It was a very interesting experience. One man ran at full speed in the opposite direction screaming ‘SPEED UP!’ Another man swore at me for being in his way, others smiled and engaged with the walkers before hurrying on their way. Next time I’d like to leave my camera at home and just walk.
